(RE)TURN TO STRUGGLE

“(re)turn to struggle” honors the lineage of revolutionary working class struggle in North America. Stories of our people’s movements have been systematically co-opted, dismantled, diluted, and robbed of their revolutionary edge. Movements that have sought fundamental change in society are erased from history, and the words of their revolutionary figures are blunted. In this exhibition, we examine, explore, and recover the real history of people’s struggles from within the belly of the beast and draw connection with international movements.

As people’s struggles grow and evolve, the empire continues to attempt to sever our inextricable ties to one another. As artists and organizers, we must fully examine our roots and historic struggles at home and abroad to find the will to fight for humanity and a framework for the total liberation of the people and the planet.
